Cycle Safety
Cycling is an enjoyable healthy activity. These points aim to keep you safe while out with the 1066 Cycle Club.
BEFORE THE RIDE
- You are responsible for your bike: check it over before setting out.
- Please bring your own puncture repair kit.
- Ensure that you are wearing hi-viz clothing.
- Ensure that you have lights fitted – these are essential between October and
February. - You MUST book in with the ride leader prior to the ride.
DURING THE RIDE
- You are responsible for your own safety and that of others.
- Ride leaders will select backmarkers and groups. Please remain in your group.
- Please ensure your mobile phone is switched on.
- Helmets are mandatory.
- Warn others of hazards, and your intentions.
- If two-abreast and singling out, the outer person moves in behind the other
rider. - If you overtake the ride leader please wait at a safe place to regroup.
Follow the Highway Code and consider all road users. - Please help the Ride Leader by adhering to these rules to ensure your
